Weekend Trip to San Diego

This past weekend, Andrew and I made a trip to San Diego. The weekend was filled with trying to get a much wedding planning done as we could and boy did we. We also spend time hang out with friends and family.(: This was Andrew's first time back since he moved to Houston in July. We also made sure to stop by our local favorite food stops that we had been missing. All in all it was a very busy and exhausting weekend. I realized as we were driving to the airport that the next time we are in San Diego..... we will be getting married. Now that is just crazy!!

Andrew holding his nephew Ethan!!!

My 1st time meeting Andrew's grandma!!

This is Judah, another new little nephew. I just love this picture because he looks like a little man. So cute!!

Andrew and I also got to celebrate my grandpa's 79th birthday. As you can see, we had cheesecake for dessert. Oh so good.

Andrew and I down at Marina Village. This was he first time seeing where we will be getting married. We got a lot of great planning done. Julia our ceremony coordinator was a great help.

We had to make a stop at Miguel's while we were there!! If you haven't been, you need to go. Their white cheese sauce is soooo good. Our waiter even gave me my own. (:

We are down to 3 months!

I looked at the calendar today and was shocked to see that today marks 3 months until the wedding. Then that made me realize that it was time for an update on wedding planning.

This past month has been busy! We were able to get a DJ that will do both the ceremony and reception. So now we have to pin down the music for the reception and that is going to take FOREVER!! Who knew there was soooo much music to pick from? I see many more nights looking up music videos online to see if we want that song to play during our reception. We also take requests….. so feel free to send them our way.

Save The Date postcards were sent out! Hope that you all received yours and made sure to check out our website. I really like how the postcard turned out! Creative is the best medicine for staying within a budget. Now will be the next task of getting the invitations out. I know that is going to be so much more work but I know they will turn out great.

Andrew and I have a trip to San Diego planed for next weekend (April 2nd thru April 5th). Our time is packed with finishing up stuff for the wedding and visiting family. It is crazy to think that the next time we are in San Diego it will be for our wedding.

These are the major highlights for the past month and the next month is going to be even crazier. I will post a blog about our time in San Diego so make sure to check back soon.

4 months and counting

I can’t believe that we are down to four months! In this past month, my mom and I made a trip down to San Diego. The two days that we were there were packed with going to the ceremony/reception site, figuring out the centerpiece, hanging with Andrew’s family, picking out flowers, deciding on a wedding cake, and met with Team Kristal. Let’s just say that we used every second we had!!!

Also, I have already picked up my wedding dress and am looking at getting alterations done in April. It is sooo pretty and I love it so much. My sisters also got to pick up this bridesmaid dresses this month too and they look so good. Some minor alternations need to be made but other then that they are beautiful.

Another blessing this month…… Stephanie’s boss who owns her own salon is flying out to do the WHOLE wedding parties hair at no cost to me. She is using the trip as a mini vacation for her family. Can I just say that God is good!

I am trying my best to enjoy this whole process and not to get too stressed out. I have a great support network around me which helps out a ton. So keep checking back for more updates as the wedding gets closer.

Engagment Photos

Over a couple of weeks ago, Andrew and I got to get our engagement pictures done! We actually asked a couple that goes to our church if they would be open to doing our pictures. Andrew goes on to ask how much they charge and they nothing. "God has given them the gift of photography so they want to use that gift and hey if you don't like them then you didn't lose any money." Lets just say we were amazed by this offer.

So we went out a couple of weekends ago to a beautiful little park that is right now the street from my place (never knew it was there) and got our pictures done. I didn't know what to expect when we received our CD this past Sunday but they went above and beyond my expectations. Words can't say how grateful we are to this wonderful couple, they have blessed us in so many ways. So here are a few pics from that day. I hope that you enjoy!!

A night I will never forget!

It still seems like a dream but the reality is that I just got engaged to the most amazing man ever! Here it how the night unfolded.

It all took place this past Tuesday (December 23rd). We had planned to go out to a fancy dinner in order to celebrate Christmas. Andrew was going to have to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so we decided to have our own little Christmas. He took me to a place called Rainbow Lodge. This restaurant is rated in the top ten of upscale dinning in the Houston area. The restaurant looked like a cabin, it was very so cute. All the windows looked over a little garden that had a running stream. We decided that after dinner we would go take a look at it. The food was amazing. They decorated the plates so fancy. Andrew adventured out and got a sample platter. It included elk, deer, duck, and some over meat. He really enjoyed it and I even tried little bits of it. Not so much my taste through. After dessert, we took the stairs to a little balcony in the garden. Andrew wanted to take a picture of us and I thought it was a great idea. He went to set the camera on a ledge and had me stand in place to get the right shot. He then said that we had 12 seconds before the picture would take. Andrew set the camera and then came over to stand by me. He then gets down on one knee. As this point I say, " What are you doing? The picture is going to go off." It was at this point, he pulls the ring out. I start saying, "Oh my gosh" over and over again. I guess at some point, I said yes. Most of the moment was a blur! I just have to say that it really surprised me. (: He knew I was looking around every corner for when he was going to propose so he got me. It will definitely be a night I will never forget.
